The Gold | Assistant Set Dec

Boasting over one hundred sets the Gold was a challenge from the outset. Once again working with Designer (Carly Reddin) and Set Decorator (Janeeta Panesar). We spent 6 months crafting what became the Gold Season one.

To start I was tasked with all 1980’s research. This was the first time I had done Period research and found myself in my element. Contacting Archives ,Newspapers and the Met i collated what would become the foundation of all our Design.

The Gold being based on true events Both Carly and Director (Aneil Karia) wanted to keep sets accurate. Working in a large team we split sets up between Myself, another assistant and Janeeta. I was in charge of several of the more intricate sets that needed a good foundation of knowledge of both the time period and the story.

I Propped, designed and dressed some of the sets you can see below including Palmers Shed, the Assay office and the Police control room. With Guidance from Carly and Janeeta we worked effortlessly as a team bringing together some wonderful sets full of character and detail.
