Lot 249 | Production Buyer
BBC’s Christmas Ghost Story was once again a pleasure to work on. Director and writer (Mark Gatiss) Kindly invited us back a second time to Help once again bring his vision to life.
Despite its small budget and little prep time Gatiss’ ghost story always requires a good level of detail and consideration. Lot 249 being set in the past (1880) was no stranger to this. Working once again with Designer (Phil Smith) and Set Decorator (Janeeta Panesar) in three weeks we pulled together some really high quality sets.
Being a smaller project and team I was heavily involved with all aspects of the Project. From research into victorian dorm rooms to Learning about ancient Egyptian relics. We sourced designed and Dressed five very beautiful and intricate sets all with a budget of 15k. All while dealing with the challenges that come with filming in a Grade One listed building.
Working on a smaller Project meant we had to be more precise with our propping as there was no budget for mistakes. Together we really bought Gatiss’ story to life. Each set had such an attention to detail with thought put into every prop resulting in sets that really reflected Gatiss’ characters.
