Man Vs Bee | Assistant Set Dec
Being completely shot on a sound stage Man vs Bee offered quite a unique work environment from the get go. We had sixteen weeks of prep and in that time we had to design, build and decorate a state of the art contemporary mansion.
Working as the assistant Set Decorator I worked closely with both Designer (Carly Reddin) and Set Decorator (Janeeta Panesar). Every Detail was Scrutinised and curated sourcing options while still in keeping with Carlys Design.
Whilst also carefully hand picking props we had to also manage the fact that everything on set had to be interacted with in some way. This meant we had to get alot of repeats and have lots of Furniture hand made. Charged with ensuring all makes arrived on time i spent alot of my team liaising with makers and builders which was crucial in the creation of the set.
Working very closely with Janeeta i ensured no request was too big or small giving my assistance in any way possible. With careful research and planning from start to finish we brought Carlys vision to life. This also resulted in a BFDG award for best design for Comedy drama.
