Saltburn | Action Prop Buyer
On Saltburn I was the Action Prop Buyer. Working closely with the set decorating team (Charlotte Dirickx) and Art department (Suzie Davies) we coordinated together on all things Action.
Over the course of the production however it became more clear that Director (Emerald Fennell) wanted to be heavily involved with Action Props . Emerald Was a pleasure to work with and with the guidance of our Prop master (Phil Smith) we as a team managed to bring Emeralds Visions to Life.
From hand plated silver cigarette cases, custom bikes, oxygen tubes, and party drugs. Saltburn taught me a lot about detail and how important Action Props are when telling a story. The opening sequence of Saltburn exhibits this, Showing our hand made cigarette case and Dunhill lighter, indicating to Oliver Quicks Personality and Character .
Emerald later in an interview spoke of how important these props were in showcasing different characters attributes and also making a world feel believable. Saltburn is full of these micro details and i think it really shows.
